Why Silk?

When we created The Silked Pillow Sleeve we set out to reinvent the way we think about clean beauty, and travel!  We choose silk as our main fabric because it is known to possess antioxidant, antibacterial, and antimicrobial properties inherently which helps to absorb oil while still retaining our skin's natural moisture; it also acts as an antibacterial remedy and is likewise hypoallergenic. Silk is free of any potentially irritating added chemicals and contains natural substances that ward off various environmental allergens (and resulting skin conditions), including dust mites, mold, and fungus. It is said that when sleeping on cotton the moisture pulled into the pillow can also draw in allergens and bacteria, causing damage and reactions to your hair and skin.
