💗 Breast Cancer Awareness Is Personal
At Silked, October is more than a pink ribbon. It’s a reminder to take action, give back, and lift up the voices of those affected by breast cancer. This year, we’re honored to showcase a powerful campaign that our Co-Founder, Phoenix Gonzalez, lead singer of Phoenix5, took part in. Women Who Rock the Suncoast is a movement born from music, unity, and compassion, led by one incredible man, Kurt “K Rock” Kiehnle.
🎸 The Man Behind the Movement
K Rock, founder of the Jack’D Up Band, is known for his love of classic rock. But this October, he’s using that passion to build something much bigger, a community-led campaign to raise breast cancer awareness through the voices of Florida’s most talented female vocalists.
“When I thought about how many women in my life have been affected by breast cancer, I knew I had to act. So I reached out to the strongest voices I knew and invited them to come together in purpose.”
— Kurt Kiehnle
The campaign began with a dynamic photo shoot at 88 Live Piano Bar in Bradenton, featuring over 30 powerhouse women committed to making an impact.
📸 More Than a Photo Shoot
The shoot brought together women from all walks of life, some meeting for the first time. What emerged was more than beautiful photos. It was a blooming sisterhood of survivors, supporters, and advocates lifting each other up both in person and across social media.
From the minute the shoot began, you could feel the love. The encouragement. The shared stories. These women showed the world that standing together truly does make us stronger.
This is just the beginning. The movement continues to grow online, with powerful visuals and real connections forming every day.
Their campaign supports The Beautiful Gate Inc., a nonprofit that provides free mammograms, early detection education, and care access for underserved women in Florida. As a result of this incredible partnership, a night of Music and Charity has been organized for November 14th, 2025 with Women Who Rock the Suncoast at 88 Live Piano Bar in Bradenton, FL. 💗 Why This Matters to Silked
Breast cancer is a cause that has personally touched Silked co-founder Phoenix Gonzalez and her family. It’s not just a campaign, it’s a cause that holds space in her heart.
“Supporting this campaign felt deeply aligned with who we are as a brand and who I am as a woman. To come together with so many strong, talented women for a cause that affects so many, it was a full-circle moment.”
— Phoenix Gonzalez
When the invitation came from K Rock, Phoenix knew right away that this was the organization Silked would support in 2025.
🎁 Silked’s Gift of Comfort
As a way to give back, Silked gifted each singer a Satin Eye Mask, a symbol of healing, rest, and appreciation. The moment was captured in an emotional Instagram Reel, showcasing gratitude, unity, and joy.
