At Silked, many of our products begin with a simple moment of realization. A moment where something that already exists could work better if it were reimagined.
Our newest product, Layover Luxe, the Satin Eye Mask & Neck Pillow Duo, was born exactly that way.
We are also incredibly excited to share that Layover Luxe is launching in partnership with FabFitFun, whom we just delivered a wholesale order to, bringing this new travel essential to their community while we introduce it to the Silked family at the same time.
Seeing a product move from idea to innovation and into the hands of travelers everywhere is always a special milestone for our brand.
Reimagining Travel Comfort
Silked inventor Phoenix Gonzalez approaches product design from a place of necessity. If something does not quite work for real life, she looks for a way to reimagine it.
That same thinking led to the creation of the Silk Pillow Sleeve, an open-ended silk pillowcase designed to slide over any pillow so travelers can protect their hair and skin anywhere they sleep.
Layover Luxe follows that same philosophy.
Phoenix looked at the traditional travel eye mask and neck pillow and realized they could be redesigned to support better self-care, beauty rest, and comfort on the go.
Over the past several months, she refined the design, adjusting the feel, the materials, and the function until the final version delivered the comfort Silked is known for.
Tested on the Road
Before launching, Layover Luxe traveled with Phoenix herself.
Earlier this year, she brought the prototype on a trip to New York with one of her band Yaleo- The Ultimate Santana Experience, using it during flights and travel days as part of the testing process. Those real-world moments helped shape the final design and ensure it worked exactly how travelers need it to.
Designed for Real Travel
As Silked co-founder Sandra said when we launched it on social, Layover Luxe was made for planes, trains, and automobiles.
The plush headrest is filled with lightweight bubble beads that gently mold around your neck for supportive comfort. Attached is a soft satin eye mask, lightly stuffed for a puffy feel that blocks out light without pressure.
A fabric arm with a button closure allows you to clip the piece directly to your suitcase or carry-on so it is always within reach.
Even the packaging reflects the spirit of travel. It reads “Let’s Travel” and features a dotted flight path with an airplane lifting off from a suitcase.
Because rest should follow wherever your journey takes you.
From Road Trips to Relaxing at Home
When influencer @aleshacharlene first received Layover Luxe, her reaction captured the spirit of the product perfectly.
She shared that she cannot wait to bring it on her next road trip with her husband and family, but she also loves the idea of using it at home when relaxing.
Because sometimes the best place for a little beauty rest is right on your couch.
